problem fixed,, had to do full uninstal and reset all registry keys during fresh instal
It looks like it's something in the "online update" process. I also had this, after doing an auto update. After manually downloading and installing over the top, all was fine. I did not need to un-install the previous version.

I think Paul disabled the auto update as it wasn't updating correctly, as you guys found, downloading the install exe's off the website fixes the problem.
I no longer monitor the forum, please either post your question or create a support ticket.
I actually had the same problem with a manual update. The fix ended up being a re-run of the update install but selecting the "return to factory defaults" for install locations before committing. There must be a definition file misplaced or something otherwise.
