02 switch points

Does the factory o2 infact switch from lean to rich? Meaning it should show up on your wideband as switching from lean to rich. NOt switching at stoich to rich. correct? When i am at freeway speeds my wideband shows 14.4 and lower. is this normal? I have to assume that it would be cause at cruising speeds i am achieving 29 m.p.g. Maybe it's just a wideband error?? It is my second one. Any comments??

from what i understand about o2 operation, it switches from lean to rich but averages around 450 which is stoich.

It actually goes from lean to Stoich lean to stoich...14.4 is about right...don't sweat it mate....you CAN change the switch point to say 400ms and you'll see a small drop in AFR to about 14.5/6 but only in the LS1 ECU's.
You achieve far better results with economy by setting the timing correctly just a wee HINT. Changing AFR from 14.4 to 14.6 achieves very little compared to getting the timing right.

see this post where I comment on wanting more timing in a cammed car but am limited to 40deg by the ECU > HINT EFILIVE guys can this be changed < in the post I've placed a log screen shot of vacuum vs timing using BIDI control...its self explanatory...so more timing to a point gives more vacuum and hence better fuel economy at light load points

Being we are on the topic of fuel economy, you wouldn't happen to have the patch for lean cruise? Or is the patch floating around here good for any pcm? Also where do you put the lean cruise patch? I thought i read that it goes in the cax file, but where is that? Is that in the user configeration?

The custom OS you can change B3647 instead of lean cruise.
