Default V2 has lost it's licences

Ok, was using the V2 on a E38 controller the other day, has been used on this 1 controller since being purchased and has only been licensed to 2
    other cars (I think lol).

Anyway was tuning my car on the dyno the other day and went to flash in a tune and told me that the PCM was not licensed. Given this V2 had
flashed this controller no less than 30 or 40 times, I was a little stunned.

Anyway checked in the tune/help/V2 licensing section and no licensed appeared at all.

Unplugged the V2 from the car, laptop etc etc, tried another laptop and nothing.

So my question is, WTF has happened and how does it get back to where it was with my licenses in tact.

Mine did the same thing a while ago. Update your V2 and firmware and they will come back

I think that is what I did

    Cheers

Thanks mate, I will give it a go.

Very strange though that a tune was flashed in ok, logged then tried to flash again and nothing.

Select the Tune Tool menu option: Help->FlashScan/AutoCal VIN Licensing.
Then click on the [Backup] button. That will save a backup of the license details stored in your V2.
The file will be called \Program Files\EFILive\V7.5\xxxxxxxxxxxx.lbu
where xxxxxxxxxxxx is your FlashScan's serial number.

Please send that file to me at paul@efilive.com

Can you also send me a screen shot of the license details of your FlashScan device?
i.e. the screen that shows up when you select: Help->FlashScan/AutoCal VIN Licensing...

I see the following licenses in your device:

    Engine Trans
    01: 16163AKUY, 741717506
    02: 1C8AP1097, Available
    03: 3C7U52253, Available
    04: 0G02T0281, Available

Does that match what you see in the licensing details screen?

    Regards
    Paul

    Second email sent.

When I select licences in the V2 it comes up with what you have above, but not when connected to different laptops with different versions of V7.5 running. Have tried different cables etc still nothing changes it.

    Cheers

    Hi Nigel,

I replied via email but I am repeating it here in case anyone else has a similar problem.

Can you please download the latest software from here:
    http://forum.efilive.com/showthread....-1-Aug-04-2011

Download and install both V7.5 and V8.
After installing V8, please update your FlashScan firmware to V2.07.19 using the EFILive_HAPI program.

Pretty much what Ben (Dieselman) posted in post#2.

    Regards
    Paul

Installing the newest version of software did fix the problem.

    Thanks to those who replied.
