Thread: Tryiing to log boost on 2009 cts-v

    Default 30 psi boost

Keep in mind some of these PIDs are reporting absolute pressure so 0 psi would be a total vacuum, 14.2 to 14.5 is normal atmospheric conditions around us and 30 psi would be around 15 psi of boost (depending on barometric pressure).

So in other words I won't be able to get a correct reading if I am using the SAE MAP pid? I think If I am making 15 psi it should say 15 psi not 30? That is what I am looking for? Thanks.

No, Jason is saying that SAE.MAP will read 30 psi (it measures absolute pressure aka boost + baro).

If you want boost, create a calculated pid that computes "{SAE.MAP} - {SAE.BARO)".

Copy the attached file to the WinXP folder My Documents\EFILive\V7.5\User Configuration (or equivalent folder in Win7).

Thanks for the help. When I saved this file it says it already exist? Am I missing something here?

If you haven't modified the existing file then just overwrite it with the new one that I posted above.

Otherwise if you have modified the existing file, post it here.

I did overwrite it. Should it work now? I take you made some changes to it? If so I will try it tomorrow. Thank again.

I used the wrong BARO pid... see attachment to this post for the corrected calc_pids.txt, copy this file (overwrite the other one).
