Identify which eng./ecm

Gentlemen
I have just purchased a new 2011 3500 HD. According to the paper work in the diesel manual literature that came with the truck and the VIN # it says that I have a LMM equipped vehicle. Is this possible? Is there any way of verifiing which eng and ecm I have.

If it is actually a 2011, it will have an LML. You can verify by looking in the glove box. There should be a sticker on the inside of the glove box door with a list of RPO codes. Look for one that says LML or LMM. That will tell you what it is. You can also look under the hood. If you see some orange split loom going to the engine on the driver's side, it is an LML.
