Before changing the boost levels, you must turn off the EGR. Here is what ya do:

Set B1502 to 0. Set B1503 to 8000. The EGR will never come on. You also need to set the DTC'S Processing Enablers to X: Not Reported for P0401,p0403,p0404,p0405,and p0406. This will eliminate the EGR test at start up that could set a code from shutting the EGR off or having too much boost during the startup test. Doing these few tasks will completely disable the EGR. EGR will remain closed at all times. You can log it to prove it to yourself also. You need to select the desired pid (an EGR pid) and record the data. Adding an EGR blocker plate will help higher boost from cracking the egr open and is recommended before modding the boost tables.

And be careful. You can get turbo bark if you are a little too aggressive even with the EGR defeated and blocked.

Setting B1503 to a point above 4,000RPM and setting C2401 to disable is all you need to do. Blocker plate for insurance is optional. Set up this way, the EGR wil not attempt to run, or test so it will not code. I set both 1502 and 1503 to 4100 and the min/max ECT to -40 for good measures.

My dad has a Duramax and keeps talking about buying a tuner. I see EFILive works with Duramax now and I am wondering how much of a gain can we expect from the changes above?

Most tuners claim in the range of 50-150 and I think he wants like 75-100 if possible.

    Thanks

You are only limited by your tuning ability. 75-100 is no problem. I am making a little over 200 over stock with EFI live at the moment. Hopefully I can figure out how to make more.

B2205,B2206,B2208,B2209. Depending what your Baro readings are you probably won't need tables B2205 and B2208. I do them anyway just in case.

Which table would I modify if the barometric pressure were at 11.6? How would i modify the table just increase it across the board or just in certain RPM's? How high can i go on the #'s?
