    Default swapping to a 411 pcm

    I plan to do the 411 swap from my 98 pcm and my question is should I do my Auto VE tuning now on the 98 and then copy the tables when I do the 411 swap? I did some VE tuning with some help before (when I installed a set of heads and cam) and then as luck would have it some bad springs caused me to bend a valve and long story short I replaced my heads with a set of 243 heads that flow slightly more than my old set and a set of long tubes and an ls6 intake so although the car runs pretty good and the LT fuel trim average around zero I still feel I should remap the VE table and work on the WOT.

    also I was going to run a 99 vin in the pcm but from what I see maybe I should go with a 2002 vin ? its not an issue to load any OS/vin from GM in the pcm (since I have my own TIS stand alone and tech 2 ) just want to start with the best OS so im not wasting a license

    It will be easier tuning the VE table if you do the PCM swap first;

    do the PCM swap (requires re-pinning PCM connectors), copy the tables, and your car should run the same as before the swap;

    then do VE (and MAF) tuning.

    The PCM you want has part number ending in 0411, this is the 512MB PCM;

    you can use the same VIN (use scantool to write in into the new PCM;

    the 2002 F-car (DBC) or 2002 Y-car (DBW) 12212156 tune files are the most versatile (M6, 4L60E, 4L80E transmission segments, COS3, COS5).

    It will cost you a license to flash the new PCM (the license attaches to the PCM serial number, not the VIN).
