Provided that the wideband controller can output a voltage range between 0 and 5 volts, and that that voltage vs. AFR/Lambda can be calculated then you should be able to use it. if you don;t already own the wideband then i would definitely recommend that you consider one that is supported by the FlashScan V2 serial connection. it is both easier to connect and is more accurate (no need to translate a voltage to an AFR/Lambda value).

Yes you need the controller. Think of EFILive as reading the wideband's output, the WB needs to be fully functional by itself. FlashScans just read the output the WB controller is outputting.

Oh, no you definitely need a wideband controller to manage and report the measurements. The FlashScan device is simply a reader of the reported values.
