Default can't install software from the disc

I am a "decent" tuner and am coming from HP to EFI Live.
That said, I am also a complete computer idiot. I haven't a clue when it come to issues with software installation etc.
I fully expected that the installation would be troublesome for me but I can't even get past the first step.
I install the disc and click on "Run EFI Live_installer.exe
A window pops up with various options such as "install EFI Live V8" etc. If I click on the install icon, a long information page comes up telling me about various folders etc. but there is absolutely nothing to click on that installs the software.
If I exit this information page I get an error message: The requested operation requires elevation. Win32 error: 740
I downloaded V7.5 a few days ago just to take a look, but how do I get V8 on my computer and once I do will I have both V7.5 and V8 icons on my desktop and of so which one do I use?

download both the v8 and the v7 programs and install them both. Here's the link to the download page.

you will have two icons from the v7 software (tuning and scanning) and one icon for the v8 software. you will definitely use the v7 software and the amount of time you have to use the v8 depends on what kind of vehicles you plan on tuning. Either way you need BOTH the v7 and v8 installed.

Thanks. So I guess I don't need the disc?
If I want to read the engine and trans in a 2011 Cadillac CTSV do I open V7 or V8?
Do you have to buy a license for both the TCM and PCM ?

    Hi Lurstsf,

You can read the 2011 Cadillac CTSV using one of the following:
    a. using V7 tunetool (V2 is in passthru mode).
    b. using V8 scan&tune (V2 is in passthru mode).
    c. using V2 with no laptop/PC (V2 is in black box standalone mode).

To be able to do c. you have to configure your V2 using the V8 scan&tune software.

To read the ECM and/or TCM you do not need a license.

To flash a ECM/TCM pair you need a single license (i.e. one license can do both 1 ECM and 1 TCM).
