Default Which Definions to use 95 olds 88

I have a check engine light in
when using gm278 I get 8 codes but they indicate False
when using gm87 I get 8 code but they indicate True
The first one using gm87 is no reference pulse
The first one using gm278 is 61- prom Error but "false"
I think I may have a bad ECM
Which Definions should I use? I had a bad block and replaced engine from a
1998 grand Prix type K all the same sensor, everything worked before escept
    the block cracked.
    Thanks

The definition to use is tied to the PCM in the vehicle. Regardless of what changes you've made to the vehicle's parts or what PCM has been swapped in/out, you need to know the following information from the original vehicle configuration in which the PCM was installed.
    1. The 8th digit of the VIN.
    2. The year of manufacture.
    3. The engine size in litres.
    4. The engine RPO (i.e. LT5)
With that information I can try and find out what the data stream definition is for the PCM.

From my 1995 Olds 88 LSS
    The 8th digit is a K
    The year 1995
    Engine is 3.8L
The RPO I will try and find, isn't that on the engine block? I do have the orginal sticker, will check that.
    Thanks in advance

Based on that info the RPO may be L36.
I'd try the "1995 Pontiac Vin K" definition. It says that is L36, 1995, VIN K and 3.8L

    Thanks,
    Where would that definition be??
Does it come with the V4 Evaluation download? That's what I download.
I'll check again, but I'm pretty sure if there was a definition for "1995 Pontiac
Vin K" I would have use it. Will run a search.
Thanks for trying to get my old beloved car right again.
