WOT downshift delay - any way to fix?

PCM is a "411", not sure which OS (don't have the tuning laptop in front of me at the moment). It's an 02 LQ4 with the stock PCM, backed by a 4L80E. No engine tune mods, only trans shift points changed to give higher WOT shift points.

When you are cruising and you stand on it, it does the typical GM "huh???? do you really want a downshift? Ok......", before it drops gear and goes. This has always annoyed me. Is there any way to make it downshift RFN with tuning mods, or is this an OS specific quirk?

Also, despite setting the 1-2 WOT upshift to 52MPH/5800RPM, and the WOT downshift to 46MPH, it refuses to drop to first above maybe 35MPH or so. This is also annoying. I know this is something I am missing...
