Thumbs up Off boost, no load, transient performance

This was some tuning we did today with no load on the roller, just the drum weight itself, and no boost to start the run, just to simulate normal driving performance. Just went from 1700 RPM's to 3800 RPM's. Remember, the 6.7's fueling is completely dependent on load. If it doesn't have load, it won't fuel.

The runs once we added load and the boost to simulate launch were ...... a whole lot more dramatic.

The loaded runs were started at 1700 RPM's and 17 psi of boost. The torque chart was almost vertical and carried 115 HP and over 150 ft/lbs out farther than the owners 840 HP drag truck.

This is with NO smoothing and SAE correction.

    Naaaah, they're cut down 100.

He called me from the track a little while ago....

1st pass .... he was paying attention to the Mustang he was racing and called on 3rd gear a little too quick and snuffed the charger.

2nd pass .... he blew the tires (33x16 slicks) off through 3rd gear.

    She's definitely making the power.

    None taken brotha.

I'm all for upgrading the valve springs. Running it that hard without them scares the crap outta me, but with 100 thou clearance, they're pretty safe. Not exactly ideal, but pretty harmless.

He's swapping the springs here shortly and then we'll turn it up some more. Once it hits a little over 60 psi, it noses over.....more boost than seat pressure.
