    Default simulate engine running

On a conversion 99 Silverado with L92+T43 I retained the old LS1B ECM to send some data on the GMLAN to feed BCM and cluster.
Unfortunately the ECM does not detect a running engine and therefore always turns on the BATTERY CHARGE FAULT display in the DIC.
Is there a way to make the ECM think the engine is running?
What signal determines running? crank sensor?

You have swapped a Gen IV A6 combination into your 1999 truck. You are controlling the engine with an E38 ECM, the transmission with a T43 TCM, and will also need to retain the original LS1-B PCM for BCM, IPC, and other functions.

This is a DIY conversion question - not a tuning question. Doubtful anyone will provide this information - many businesses sell this type of conversion (including myself).

You will need to go through the schematics for both the 1999 truck receiving the conversion, and the vehicle that donated the new drivetrain.
