I am not a diesel guy but my friend just bought an 06 with the lbz engine. Truck is totally stock. Anybody have a modified tune for performance and/or fuel mileage they would like to share. Thanks

Yes you can look on DP but you have to be careful as not every tune is safe some like to push the limits. Is he looking more for performance or mileage its hard to get both especially if you have a heavy foot.
2002 Chevy Duramax with a few supporting mods.
Should have mentioned that... sorry.
If you are new to EFILive, you are a long way from your first tune. I have been tuning now for about three years, still have much to learn.
The best advice I have is to log your stock settings and make SMALL changes and see how it affects the motor. DON'T mess with the idle cells. Learn everything you can about diesel timing. Killerbeeperformance.com has a great article and should be read by anybody looking to tune a diesel. Install a pyrometer (my opinion is, this is a must). It is VERY easy to get carried away in the fueling tables and go way beyond safe EGT.
In your tuning, the Duramax motor will produce outrageous amounts of HP and torque, but the tranny will not be happy above about 450/750 for extended periods of time.
It takes much reading and studying, but it is very fun and satisfying to build your own tunes.
Good luck!
