    Default Cummins service

Recently the ECM on my Cummins 5.9, Freightlener chassis died. I had problems finding someone to repair it. It seems that only Cummins and/or Freightliner can work on them because only they know the codes. Is that true?

No that is not true I'm afraid, EFILive and probably most of the hand held 'box' tuners can read fault codes from the ECM. Did the problem get fixed in the end?

Yes, Cummins NW put a new ECM on it but it took them about a week to program it. I flt they over charged me.

I need to learn more about reading the codes.
