    Default Can't log after installing Build 211 and VIN has changed

    Finally have the truck back together after 9 months. I reinstalled EFILive to the latest versions and updated the V2 firmware. I can read/write OK, read and clear DTCs, but if I try to log an error report is generated.....typically $02 or $03 Edit: Never mind the scanning issue............the scanner was defaulted to "stream fast"

    Also, I read the PCM and the VIN does not match my actual VIN or last saved tune which are the same. The only other thing that seems to have changed was that the MAF fail parameters went back to stock (this is an SD tune). Not sure how the VIN could have changed on its own. According to the VIN it was for a full size 1500 truck, 4 DR, with a L59, 2.4L L4 engine!

    After flashing the V2 firmware you also have to program the BBx Config (do Program All).

    To change the VIN in your PCM, use the V7 Scantool to change it.

    Are you sure you have the correct tune file...?

    I did change the VIN to be correct when I saw the discrepancy. The file was read directly from the PCM, which has not been touched since the trans went last September. It was a running tune back then.

    Seems to be some other issues with this tune file as well as there are idle issues that I cannot correct. It got to the point with even putting the file back in as read out the engine did not want to start. So I flashed in the last saved tune file on my laptop, which should be identical, ................ the engine fired right up and I went for a drive.

    Would not doing the program BBx Config (when not using the BBX features) have caused the read file to be corrupted? All files simply passed through the V2.

    Which V8 build version do you have installed...?

    Which V2 firmware do you have installed in the V2...?

    Can you post the following (label each accordingly):
    - a good tune file from V7;
    - any bad tune files from V8 (flashed in with V2, read back with V2).

    I could swear that I had a tune file that I compared to the one I read off the PCM which only had the MAF fail differences. Will have to look through the files I recovered from my PC that died recently. For now this is the most recent one I can find. The truck had been up on stands since a couple of weeks after the last change to this file. I am also attaching the file read directly from the PCM. I did change the MAF fail parameters prior to saving it.

    The only obvious odd thing is the wonky VIN.

    My V2 has never been setup for BBX.

    readfromPCM is the bad one.

    The one I am actually running on now is below. It is based on a file a few saves prior to the Aug 13, 2001 file which I found yesterday.

    So, the file Aug 13, 2011.tun was a good file that you wrote (BBF) into your PCM and read (BBR) back as read fromPCM.tun, is that correct...?
