I did some more logs repeating the above, re calibrated my LC-1's just to be sure, included fuel consumption liters per hour. Logs attached.

So throughout the range of timing, idle speed was 800+/-75 rpm (I notice the variance gets smaller as timing increases)... is this where your cam likes to idle...?

i got 800f for egt's at idle. seems high.
My setup is a 356ci with a 260/268 (212/218 at .050 lift) duration cam with aluminium corvette heads and flat top pistons running 11.3 comp. ratio. with tuned port injection and vortec crank pick up and dizzy running a 411 pcm and 60lb bosch injectors, 1.6 ratio roller rockers. For transmission its a 4l65e built with the monster in a box mega ss kit. All in a 92 chevy ext cab 4x4 pickup with a 98 cab now installed with a third door! running only e85

Correct, for the analysis I set minimum idle air to 0 g/sec so that the PCM wouldn't interfere, spark correction tables were zeroed out, idle spark, HI, LO and coast down spark to the same values, starting at 50 reducing down to 10 in 0.5 degree decrements, I logged a minute (~600 frames) of data at each 0.5 degree and allowed PCM to hold desired idle at 800rpm using the throttle only (bi directional controls only allow maximum of 10 degrees retard from final timing so I did it over four logs)

Idle min max range is observed to tightest around 38~42 degrees timing, idle was smooth

What is your idle timing, 800f = 427C, that would be around 20* timing on my set up

I wouldn't worry, what AFR? where is your sensor located, my EGT sensors are located in the headers about 2" from the head.

lambda hovers at .98-1.01 and sensors are in the headers within two inches of the heads. one on number 5 and the other on number 6
