Well, the OS do not match. I took the 2002 5.3 Silverado tune from TFD and copied in the 2002 Camaro Trans segment info. They are both the 12212156 OS. My 2001 5.3 that I am actually working with is 12212156 (looks like it was only used in 2001 Silverado???). I have the commercial Scan&Tune so I should be able to flash the new OS on to the PCM, right? The icon is grayed out in my tuning software so I can't. Am I missing something?

Well, that narrows it down to 12212156 then.

Yes you should be able to full flash (to change OS)... FlashScan has to be plugged into your PCM, and your V7 software has to be registered

(go Help->About, if you see Demo mentioned then you have to enter the blue card details).

Darn, that was a typo. The 2002 OS from the truck and camaro that I downloaded from the web are both 12212156, but the OS of the 2001 PCM I actually have in my hands is 12208322. 12208322 is the one that seems to be only used on 2001 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 and 8.1 and nothing else.

Regardless of that, I should be able to change the OS by performaing a full flash. Not sure what's going on there. My software is registered with all the blue card details and it is labeled as "commercial". I will have to look into that further. Thanks again Joecar.

Yay Me! I took the 2002 Truck 5.3 OS (12212156) and put in the 2002 F body manual trans segment. When I reconnected everything the option was there to perform a full flash, so I did. Everything seems to work great! The engine fired right up and is running on my engine dyno right now using the stock tune. Thanks Joecar!
