    Default PLX M-250 Installation

I just completed my PLX M-250 installation. I'd like to thank Whitney, AllCammedUp, for posting his installation pics and description as it was a valuable guide that eased the process. I used the same locations for the controller and external output connectors since they were nicely tucked away and yet accessible. I considered a couple of other locations for the controller, such as under the glove box near the fuse panel but the controller box is so small, it seemed logical to keep it within easy access just in case.

I've only tested it a couple of times since I only finished the installation yesterday but the WB setup is working nicely with EFILive. I haven't gotten the EGT probe registering yet but I hope to have time to sort that out this weekend.

I took some time last night and this morning to put together a web page detailing my installation. It's a bit rough and incomplete but I'll try and update it as time allows. You can view it at the link below.

    Patches,

Step-by-step write up with good photos; looks great, neat and tidy.

Question: where can I get Thermatec heat shielding adhesive tape...?

    Thanks,
    Joe

    Excellent installation instructions!

I'll be purchasing a WBO2 in the near future and will certainly reference your work.

    Thank you.

    Thanks Rick.

Joe, I have ordered it from a web site that I have the link to at work. This time, however, I ordered it on a Saturday at the Advanced Auto Parts store counter near where I live and it came in at 3:30AM the next morning. No shipping charges either.

Wow Ed, that install write up is great - Congrats on such a neat and professional looking install!

Man - I wish I could make delrin components myself... that shift light holder and gauge bezel is awesome looking and the cap is a great idea!!

I'll also keep an eye out for the Thermatec protective tape - I had no idea that could be purchased locally, and will wind up going back and re-wrapping mine once I can get the car back up in the air.

Thanks for the props - I'm happy that something I did helped someone else out.

Thanks, Whitney, but the props go to you since you blazed the trail.

I misspelled the heat shielding -it's Thermotec. Here's the website. It's actually a bit cheaper on there than at Advanced Auto but I guess you have to factor in the shipping.

Ross, thanks for the compliments. The PLX works great with EFILive. With the built-in PIDs, it's as well-integrated as anyone could ask.
