Default Have to go SD with a COS?

    Yo EfiLive,

I've never had to use a COS but I've got a pair of 8.1 trucks (boosted ls1b) and have been thinking about it for better resolution and 2bar map use.In the tutorial it says I can't run a COS with maf tuning. Is this accurate for all COS? I don't want to go SD for drive-ability reasons. 5k FT elevations changes and 125 Degree+ temp swings throughout the seasons, tune SD for that in a reasonable amount of time...... Anyway ,just looking for some input.
Is there is another way to run a 2bar and be able to log above atmospheric pressure? I've always run a maf change rather than map change so far.

    THanks,
    Nick

It is not that you cannot run a maf with a COS. You can. However if you run a decent amount of boost you may peg the maf.
If you are not having this issue with a standard OS, you should not run into a problem with a COS.

Excellent, that is what I was hoping for. If out run out of maf I'll up the tube size like I usually do.

    Thanks!

Depending on settings on the tune, the 2bar would be ignored if you are above 4k rpms, so it would be a waste, As it does a maf/ve blend, until you enter highspeed airflow mode, where it mainly uses maf, unless it is a dirty signal. That is the reason for using 2bar only..

As for Altitude, the BAROMETER and baro updates are what setup for that, not the mass air meter. You just have to make sure you set the tests in areas that are not making boost. So it dont skew itself.
