Smile need help identifying efilive flashscan V2

    Hello,

I have a EFILive FlashScan V2 scan and tune - windows version.....was in an estate sale box at an auction that I won. I would like to sell it - but am unsure what it is, exactly. The serial number is 3823252742 FS2-T. The box says - Contents: FlashScan interface, vehicle (J1962) cable, PC (USB) cable, WO2 connector, thermocouple connector, installation CD, software license, warranty registration card, CD based documentation.

It has three cables, one attached at the top, one on the bottom, and a separate one that looks like the picture of the FlashScan V2 Serial Cable from the EFILive website. There are eight orange connectors (looks like the picture for 8 x AD-2 external input connectors), one blue license that says flashscan interface: commercial Scan & Tune, a blue Warranty card, and a white limited warranty card, and a installation CD for scan and tune software, USB drivers.

Can anybody tell me What it is exactly? I would like to post it for sale on ebay - but the ones listed there all have specifics like diesel, duramax, cummings, allison, gas, etc.....I really do not want to post it unless I have the information correct. :>

    I hope someone can help.
    Thank you!
    Sherri

When you gets the details on the V2 please post them. I may be interested depending on what license it has.

    Hi Sherri,

Apologies, I had typed out a response to your post a couple of days ago but it seems that I may have forgot to press [Post] and the message was lost. What I tried to post earlier was this...

That device is a Scan and Tune GM and has not been used to obtain any upgrades so it is fully eligible for all upgrades and license/stream purchases.
It is older than 12 months so no manufacturer warranty exists for it.

This is the product that you have:
    https://www.efilive.com/index.php?pa...mart&Itemid=54

You may purchase a Cummins Tuning upgrade for it here:
    https://www.efilive.com/index.php?pa...mart&Itemid=54

You may purchase VIN licenses for it here:
    https://www.efilive.com/index.php?pa...mart&Itemid=54

You may purchase stream licenses for it here:
    https://www.efilive.com/index.php?op...mart&Itemid=58

    Regards
    Paul

    Hello Paul,

I know that this devise comes with 2 VIN licenses (engine and Trans) and have read that the license is connected to the controller.... The available license option on the device shows numbers in each of the engine license slots and both trans licenses say available. Does these mean that there are only two trans licenses that can be used without further cost? Can the two engine licenses be "reprogrammed" to be used with a different controller and/or vehicle?

Also, what advantage does the commercial license have over personal or others?

    (Sorry for my lame questions!)

    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi Sherri,

It appears to be a FlashScan V2 with GM interface enabled, with 2 licenses half-used (each license does one engine and one trans)...

yes the trans licenses can be used without further cost.

I don't think the engine half-licenses can be cleared, the buyer would have to purchase additional licenses.

All V2's already have the Commericial option (allows full flashing mode).

    So in simple terms:
    1) Each VIN license has 1 ECM and 1 TCM slot.
    2) The ECM and TCM slot does not necessarily have to be the same vehicle. For example the LS1B PCM which has integrated transmission control might take up the ECM slot of VIN license #1, but the TCM slot of VIN license #1 could be allocated to a T43 of a different vehicle.
    3) Once a slot is allocated to a controller it cannot be released and reallocated.
    4) The 'Personal' and 'Commercial' distinctions are carryovers from FlashScan V1 days. All V2 products have always been a 'Commercial' edition product.

    Hope that helps.
