    Default Larger turbo with P0299

Hello everyone. I have BD killer B on my truck and I get P0299 ( low boost ). If I were to get EFIlive could I change the parameters that throw the code or delete the code completely?

Go into the DTC list and disable the 299 code....

    That easy....

Turning that off will ONLY disable the DTC for the P0299 code. There are MANY other DTC's to disable with EFI.

Since he using an Edge currently, I really think a much better question is could he tune out the conditions that are causing the code. I'm still learning all this but I would think that with EFIs capabilities one would be able to tune to the hardware and not just start disabling DTCs.....

I am sure there are tables that you could change to suit the lower than stock boost value at given rpm, but at this time there are still plenty if people 03-05 (development and release) 07.5-09 (getting rid of the warnings, and dings associated with deleted trucks) and 2009.5-2012 trucks that need development that need to happen before extreme depth is taken to adjust DTC parameters instead if disable.

I wasn't referring to adjusting the DTC parameters. I was thinking that through datalogging and tuning, you would be able to eliminate it... Or is this a common code that you get when going to a larger turbo that just gets disabled.... Like I said though, I'm still learning....

    Default Larger turbo with P0299

I've learned that some OS trigger a 299 and some don't.

Only real way to get around it would be to get enough boost early enough to prevent the code from happening.

Through tuning it "Could" be done...most time would need to be spent on low end timing to get enough heat to spin the turbine wheel sooner creating boost sooner and enough duration to also facilitate heat transfer to the turbine wheel.

I can't see signatures on my phone, so I don't know the size if the turbo the OP is using.

Thanks...yes it's reasonable to expect tuning to play a part in fixing a low boost condition with a 63/68/14 turbo.

Only with the aid of EFI though....you can't modify the timing with edge or smarty enough to fix the low boost issues.
