    Default Filter pid to Spreadsheet?

Is there a way to create a filter pid that dumps to a spreadsheet file? I'd like to filter based on throttle, rpm, and knock retard, then write a spreadsheet of all pids in the bbx datafile that meet that filter.

I've been running the filter and manually typing the info into a spreadsheet and its not fun!

    Thanks!

    Rob

You can export a log to a csv file...

    BUT...

why are you using a spreadsheet instead of the scantool maps...?

( and the scantool allows you to create a filter based on whatever you like )

    How is the export done?

I loaded the datafile, view it in Chats, select my filter, hit the Filter Data button, hit Save and Save As, and the only type in the list is .pld

    File->Export

( are you trying to save the filtered file...? )

You're clicking the wrong Save/Save-As buttons (you clicked the Save buttons in the PIDs tab sub-toolbar)...

you want to click the Save As button in the main toolbar at the top of the window, it pops up a dialog asking this (with Yes No buttons):

    The current data is filtered.
Do you wish to save only the currently visible data?.

    I'm using V8 and guessing you're talking about V7.5?

Ah, I only use V7.5 for modifying and flashing the tune. I've been using Charts in V8. I did just try to open one of my bbx logged files in V7.5 and it didn't seem to do anything. Guess I'll have to read up on it.

When you open a log using V7 scantool, check if the replot button has turned red (snowflake/star shaped, at bottom of window, next to speaker button), if it is red then click it.

That worked. I'm now able to display a table of knock retard values against rpm and dyncylair. I'm applying a filter to see knock in excess of 2 degrees, hiding cells with low counts, and flip between seeing the max and mean values. That gives me exactly what I needed!! Now I can tweak the tune.

Is there a way to get it to go quickly through the data file? My logs are 30 min long from session on the track.

    Thanks!

Long logs slow down the replot... what I do is a combination of filtering and saving to a new filename, and cropping the log.
