Default How to delet Bank 1 & 2 Downstream O2 sensors?? Please help

I am trying to deactivate the O2s on a 2000 chevy 3/4 ton pickup with the 5.7 Vortec and the L31 operating system. I am having a really hard time finding in the software where I can go in and shut them off. I have went in and deactivated the cat protecion, and shut off the DTC falt indicators and the Calibration.Diagnostic Enablers for these sensors, but I dont actually see how I can "turn them Off" Help please! Thanks, Studer

    Hello Bstuder11,

If you are not using post cat O2s in your setup - go to the "Engine DTC Processing Enablers" folder - set the following to "Not Reported"
    • P0137
    • P0138
    • P0140
    • P0141
    • P0157
    • P0158
    • P0160
    • P0161
    • P0420
    • P0430
    Hopefully I didn't miss any ...

    Regards,

That's all that is necessary to disable them via the tune ... could physically remove them if you want.

That turns off all the error codes, but does it also turn off the feedback from post CAT sensors? Or do you still have to physically remove/unplug?

Disabling the DTC's will make the computer not even look at those o2's or anything else u disable in the dtc list. Then u need to disable the same things in the mil list so you don't get a check engine light. Just disable anything with a number 2 after it and disable the catylist efficiency dct and mil.

I didn't think that would work with the post CAT sensors still hooked up? So I tried and they are still working and affecting fueling. But with the post CAT sensors disconnected it worked like a charm.
