    Default Timestamp and Mileage Readings

    I'm trying to use the scan tool to take OBDII data on a project for the day job and I can't seem to get the tool to give me a single screen that shows the current timestamp, mileage, DTC status (even if none exist!), readiness indicators, and monitor status (passed/not run). I see that we can get a report showing current/pending DTCs and readiness status, but it has no timestamp or mileage. I also see that we can log miles since codes cleared in the PIDs, but again this is not timestamped, doesn't show actual odometer reading, and isn't tied to a DTC display either. Am I missing something? CARB requires that these be shown in a single file/picture for certification and I was hoping EFIlive would work.

    Hmmm, is CARB interesting in seeing Mode $6 data for any reason...?

    What is the difference between readiness indicator and monitor status...?

    Using FlashScan in standalone mode you can generate a fairly comprehensive list of OBDII/CARB/EPA data.
    Use F3->F4, then use EFILive_Explorer to copy the generated file to your PC.

    Its not exactly what you want, but its a start.

    While the V8 scan tool is being developed that report will be enhanced with additional data and the items you suggested will most likely make it into the report.

    Here's a sample of what the report looks like:
    Code:
    [PCM INFO]
    VIN=6G1ZK54F05L000000
    OS=12592433
    Stream=LS1B

    [PCM CVN]
    ; No CVNs detected.

    EVAP=N/A
    AIR=N/A
    ACRF=N/A
    O2S=Ready

    [DTCs EPA Current]

    That's pretty much what I was already able to generate in V7.x It's the complete report, minus the critical timestamp and mileage at reading. CARB will NOT accept our report without these, so it's still a deal breaker at the moment. I really appreciate that you're looking into this. Adding this functionality will be a big help in the future for a lot of people who don't even know they'll need it yet. Please keep adding great stuff like this to what is already an excellent tool set. In the meantime, it looks like I need to find a "plan B".

    Hi Greg, what are you doing with/for CARB, if I may...?

    The odometer reading is not something that can be obtained using generic OBDII PIDs. I can't imagine that CARB would require a scan tool obtain data that is not defined by the J1979 specification.
    Are you 100% sure that the odometer reading must be part of the report, if so then it will most likely need to be obtained visually from the odometer by the technician doing the inspection and written on the report manually.

    The time stamp and odometer readings from the following generic PIDs can also be easily added in an EFILive update:
    MIL_DIST
    CLR_DIST

    Regards
    Paul
