Default Turbocharged Trailblazer.. looking for tuning options..

    Hello..

We are finishing up our prototype turbocharged Trailblazer Project.. As it sits, now, we're relying on fuel pressure regulator, 550cc injectors, and a rising rate regulator (FMU). Basically, we turn the base pressure down to get our driveability in order. When the engine gets into boost, the FMU brings our pressure back up, and we get our flow capacity. This work, decently.. but, it's a far-cry from a good tune. The ignition will be address with a MSD DIS-4, with the ignition system setup for "wasted spark". I will be able to control timing while under boost with this system. As for the transmission, we are working with JET to get a controler to adjust shift firmness.

I'm hoping that you guys, or HP Tuners will be coming out with SOMETHING to tune these engines.. We are going to offer a turbo kit for the Trailblazer/Envoy.. Hopefully, we won't have to rely on piggyback systems to tune. While they DO work... it's a pain in the ass to get it all working together. If you guys would like to work with us on this... please contact me at TravisFIR@gmail.com . Here's a few pics of the development..

Excuse the mess... these are unfinished pics.. The truck is done, and is up and running. I'm hoping that someone will work with us on getting a tune for this thing. We're going to try and get some options for this engine out on the market. This thing has a LOT of potential.. we're actually building one with pistons/rods and studs, which is going into a Nissan 240sx drag car. We're aiming at 8-900whp through a 4L80E.

    Hi Travis,

Well, if you can get that combo running on in-line boxes then real PCM tuning will help it so much more (but you already know that).
FYI, here in Australia FORD offer an IL6 4.0L Turbo, reasonable power as is, but now that SCT has tuning for them we are seeing these cars in the 10's!. Something tells me the LL8 with a turbo will be a great combo too.
Might give these 500RWHP Duramax and LS1 owners something to think about

I'll shoot you an Email, our beta tesing is going to start soon -

    Cheers,
    Ross

    Hey..

Yes, we are very interested in whatever you have to offer.. I've got many years of tuning experience with Electromotive, Haltech, FAST, etc.. We're trying to avoid going to that level with this project, however. I looked at some of the features that you guys offer.. and it's pretty amazing. It's crazy just how many parameters you can modify.. I'm used to Nissan ECM's... where we have to hack into the board, solder in our own EEPROM's, and bypass the stock EPROM. The stock one is completely unflashable.. you can read it, but you can't write or change data. So, this is sorta new to us... Anyway, let me know what you can offer us.. We're trying to get this thing up and running for a feature in Truckin Magazine this summer. Thanks!

Looks like a nice setup. Are the pipes just tack welded at the time of pics? I was trying to get a company to bend me full lengths of mocked up piping. I think that looks much nicer than welds.

Travis- I thought you were going to relocate the battery to the rear? Are you still going to do that, or not?

BTW, it looks better every time I see it!
