Default Protect the engine when doing VET.Calc

So I have A LQ9 that I have added LS6 intake/Ported TB, new cam and the engine runs lean so I have to calibrate the VE-table.
I have done this before so thats fine but I am worry about pushing the engine hard when it is running lean.
Can I do anything to make it run less lean or even better running slightly rich, add ??% to all value in the VE-table. Any input to this, don´t want to ruin the engien.
