Thread: 2-3 shuttle shift fix

    Default 2-3 shuttle shift fix

I had the same shuttle shift that you guys were describing and in the end it ended up being the transducer and pressure sensor on the valve body of my tranny. I went to these guys and got both parts which are an upgrade from borg warner and it immediately fixed the issue. NO MORE SHUTTLE SHIFTING!!! And the parts were cheap, and they only took about 20 min to replace, very easy fix.

the link to both parts are below.

I still have the shuttle shift and it is driving me crazy . I have tried BW solenoid, GM solenoid, new transducer, and tighten the band about 1/4 turn over. Nothing made any difference. I used efi to move the TTVA angle up and down a few degrees and it only changed the point at which it will shuttle shift, didn't help it at all. I would certainly appreciate any other advise.

Combination of Gov pressure map and TTVA map will help

You may also look into re-adjusting your 2nd gear band.

Adjusting the 2nd gear band helps for a few months but its always goes back to its usual habits . Which direction should I go with the gov. pressure? I've read elsewhere upping the ttva angle a little (Which I tried). Up the pressure also? I do have a DTT shift enhancer as well.

    Default 2-3 shuttle shift fix

Take the enhancer out...ttva and that do exactly the same thing.

Take it out and retry ttva adjustments

i respanned and changed mine to this. it hasnt eliminated the shuttle completely, but it sure helped. it holds the lower gears a little longer now and will only make the odd downshift now and then instead of hunting back and forthClick image for larger version.

I you recently had the valve body off or apart such as a new trans that sound like a bad Govenor Pressure in vavle body I know I went thru 3 of them in two months just by removing them till I changed to a PATC conversion to a GM GP sensor.

Careful with those TTVA angles. Those TTVA angles are directly related to line pressure if you don't have a constant pressure VB. With enough HP, if you screw it up, you'll be burning up OD clutches.

So basically you're saying don't got down with the angle, only up? This way line pressure won't get too low?

Any utility in doing the mechanical advance on the TTVA motor. I assume that is that same as changing the angle in the table.
