    Default Demo Version?

I have my EFI Live 7.3.1 installed on my computer and my Commercial Scan & Tune licensed entered, but when I open EFI Live it shows as being in Demo mode. Not a big deal as I have sold the 98 Camaro, but have bought an 08 Z06, which is stock and has a GMPP warranty so am not going to tune it but would like to do a couple of things. One is read and explore my old tunes for the LS2 402 and also read and explore the stock LS7 08 tune. I suppose that demo is ok as I am not actually going to tune anything but it is annoying. I am doing this from the computer only without the V2 hooked up. Maybe that is the problem.

I also am annoyed that the forum doesn't allow carriage returns and I am having to type a run on sentence. Went to General Settings and fixed the formatting problem.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you have the blue registration card that came with your EFILive FlashScan...?

Do you have FlashScan V1 or V2...?

For the 2008 ZO6 you will need V2 (i.e. V2 understands CAN protocol, whereas V1 understands VPW protocol).

    Hey Joecar,

How are you? I have V1 and V2 although as I say, neither is hooked up as I am simply in the house typing at the laptop. I suppose I need a license for the 08 Z06, but my task this morning was helping someone on Corvette Forum that has an LS2 with some knock issues so was simply trying to access my 98 tunes. The license number entered is correct although I don't recall the color of the registration card, but the license number and date are on the box.

I haven't lost me registration it is in the software and correct. Heck, I kept my 03 email from Blackie sending my license details for my upgrade to V6 on the commercial scan and tune license.

OK, I do see that I need to marry the V2 to the software in this computer from the V2. Unfortunately that is at my garage with all my stored cars and that is 20 miles from me. I will do the "authentication" step when I get there next.

I will just put up with the annoying "Demo" sign between every table I am looking at in the meantime.

    Thanks Joecar.

Hey Perry, good to hear from you.

In your license details (Help->Register) check the following:
    - date format (might be in non-US format),
    - your name (leave it out).

Date is 01-Jan-2004, Name being removed doesn't help and the name I have entered is the same as the email Blackie sent me with the serial number and the key.

The date of the email is 9-23-2003. I will try and enter that rather than the 01-Jan-2004 date so see if it helps.

Still no go. I will wait until I can marry it to the V2 and authenticate that way.

the scan tool has exactly the same data entered and doesn't seem to have a problem.

    Default Demo Version?

7.3 software is YEARS out of date. 7.3.2 dates back to early 2006, so I'm guessing your 7.3.1 dates back to 2005.

I'd suggest your first course of action would be to update you V7 software and prior to using your FlashScan V2 that you download and install V8 software, then update your boot block and firmware. In the early years of V8, firmware and boot block updates there were some quirks, so you'll need to sit down with some spare time to upgrade.

    Cheers
