Default Are two licences needed for ECM and TCM

Hi everyone, wow havent been here in a while . My question is if i need two licences to tune a friends 2007 Youkon Denali with the 6.2l and 6l90e as it has a ECM and a seperate TCM . I believe it has VVT so i might not even go there but we will see. Thanks. eric

Each VIN licence covers both an ECM and a TCM, so one only required.

    +1 what darcy said...

each VIN license does 1 ECM and 1 TCM, or 1 PCM.

Thanks guys. Should have cought on to that because in the V2 under licenses there is engine and trans availiable with a license. Oh while you experts are there another quick question . I am using my EFIlive with an old xp laptop that goes very well but i will soon be buying a new laptop with window 8 professional so i can get out of the dark ages, i know i can use it on both laptops but am i correct on assuming all i have to do is install the software on my new laptop and enter my original activation code that came with my V2 . Are there any hookups that have to be addressed. I know there is something with the USB3 on win 8 that has to be switched off as i read it here . Thanks you. Eric

Install EFILive software on Win8 (be logged in as admin).

Then, copy My Documents\EFILive\V7.5\User Configuration\License.txt from WinXP to the new location on the Win8 laptop.

If USB does not work, then at system BIOS disable USB3/xHCI (i.e. so USB port defaults to USB2 mode).
