I don't see a Program Pids function. I did take the flashcan out to PCM but all that happened is that my VIN disappeared from Scan when I reconnected.

    Joe,
I located the window that tells you to take flashcan to PCM plug it in and hit start/stop button, wait 5/10 seconds to validate and plug it back in to computer. Well I still get same error message about selecting channels. Had apparently set flashscan for validate and then tried to look at phantom BB log file when the validate ballon came up.

The Program Pids button is labelled PIDs and has a red down-arrow.

To validate pids, you click PIDs first, then click validate, then click disconnect, take V1 to vehicle, pug in in, hit run/stop, wait 30 seconds, then hit run/stop, and bring V1 back to PC...

Embarrassingly I figured that out. I followed the Help file for validating the PIDs. Seems my FSP 1.2 is stuck in Validate pids mode. I can load Pids when connected to PCM but can't BB log, Log light won't stay on.

Ok, validated PIDs at PCM, now you have to bring your V1 back to your PC, let V7 see the validation, and then program PIDs again.

Can't get past validate. Believe the reason is that the Pids won't load into FSP due to no channels. Anyway BB is stuck in validate Pids mode for now.

Thank you. The reset for FSP to installation default did nothing but that may just clear memory.

Well here's where I'm at today. Deleted all vpl files and revalidated computer and FSP, created two vin specific vpl files, although missing some numbers, example 1G1YY32G_Y5.vpl and 1G1YY32G_Y5_10.vpl plus one External.vpl. Every thing stays validated as long as I'm plugged into PCM and I can load PIDs onto FSP and BB scan. When unplugged from PCM but connected to FSP all PIDs with a channel association become invalid and unload-able to FSP. I'm selecting the LSB1 Gen III 99-08 controller and my car specific vin. This is the only car ever plugged too.
