Because this PCM came from a 04 GTO Blue/ Green PCM, but cable throttle, i couldnt find any stock tune with the same OS to segment swap the trans part.. this is an LS6 engine with some mods like cam and other parts, as this PCM was already tuned for the engine.. maybe i was able to start with another PCM like blue/red with a 4x4 silverado base tune, but i already have the license on the GTO pcm, and it was already tuned for that engine.. But if you think is beter to start with a 4x4 silverado tune and start tuning the engine from scratch i will do it, or you think is better copy paste all the LS6 tables to the silverado tables? if you think is better ill do it, really, just want to do the things right,

When you opened the "B9103" parameter for the first time, if written correctly, it should have displayed "2wd". In the screen-shot you posted it displayed "<4>".

This should have immediately indicated to you that something was wrong / incorrect.

You got lucky this time. The parameter at 196B4 is the Reverse Lockout Speed (reverse inhibit with a manual transmission). It would have originally had a value of 1024 ($0400) which corresponds to a speed of 8 MPH. By applying the "2wd" button in B9103, you simply set this parameter to 0 MPH.

The new address supplied by Lextech (196E4) appears correct - although I have never tested this proposed change to a GTO OS in a running vehicle.

will start from scratch using 4x4 silverado tune and start tuning from scratch for the LS6 engine.,.. thanks everyone

Ya, I've never tried such a thing with a GTO PCM and OS. There are a few strange things about the 2004 GTO PCM and OS.

I'm digging up an old thread here as I've been playing around with this .cax file an noticed something. I installed the .cax file per the directions and have files placed for 12202088 ('01) and 12212156 ('02) operating systems. What I noticed is that if I view a stock 01 or 02 express/savana tune file the 4WD enable parameter shows up as 4wd, this seemed inconsistent to me as these vans were not offered as 4wds to the best of my knowledge. Looking at a 02 6.0l 4wd tune file (12212156) the 4WD enable parameter correctly shows 4WD. Looking at a '01 5.7L camaro tune (12202088) the 4WD enable parameter shows 2wd correctly. So maybe this is all working correctly and for some reason the van tune files have 4WD enabled? Pretty new to this so just wondering if I'm seeing what every one else is? My application is a 1998 2500 Savana converted to 4wd with a solid axle swap, L31 running on an 0411 PCM, currently on the 12202088 OS. My goal is to get low range working properly and have been reading some of the other threads about 4 low here and on other forums.

4wd was enabled on all of the 01-02 Express Vans that I have ever seen.

Interesting. I'm now wondering if getting low range shift tables will work with the stock L31 van tune without doing any segment swaps in a manually shifted transfer case application (on my van a New Process 205) is just as simple as wiring C2-16 to a switch that is grounded when the case in manually shifted to low. That is currently how I have the 205 wired, maybe it is just that simple. It seems like all of the other threads I've read have to do with low range issues are specific to the electronically shifted t-cases when a 0411 swap is done. I guess I'll find out when I get the van rolling again. Sorry if I'm getting off topic.

I started with an Express van base tune. I never knew this cax existed. If I run home and try it, will my electronic t-case shift out of 1st in 4lo? I've put off the segment swap for years out of laziness.

No, like Lex said, my express van tune already has the 4x4 enabled, the .cax just lets you see the parameter. I had to do a segment swap to get 4lo to work. I think what I did to get the 4lo working was to start with a 6.0L/4L80e 4x4 tune as a base and swapped the express van engine and transmission segments over, then modify the remaining segments to match my speedo, crankshaft signal, etc... from the original express van tune. Need to fire up the old laptop and see where I was in the tuning to be sure that is what I did, but it will work with segment swaps. The van has on the back burner at the moment with what I think is a transmission problem. Mine is a manual shift t-case and I wired the ball switch on the 4lo shift rail (NP205) to the PCM (I forget which pin now...) so I'm not sure if you need a base tune from another electronically shifted 4x4 or not??? Maybe the 4x4 tunes for the 0411 are all electronically shifted???
