Default TPS won't reset to 0%

My TPS will not ready 0% once the engine is running. With key on and the engine not running it will read 0 but once I start the engine it reads around 2-4%. Sometimes it will read around zero and the car idles good then but when it is around 2-4% the idle surges a lot. It kinda seems like possibly a ground issue but I'm not sure. This is on a 2000 Camaro.

If you think its a wiring problem, try checking the continuity of the wires, on LSB1 PCM the 3 wires from the TPS goes to the PCM.. if everything its ok try adjusting the TPS phsically

Yeah I'm going to check the continuity from the tps connector to the pcm. I've adjusted the TPS physically and reset the TPS but still acts the same. Researching on LS1tech someone says maybe the pcm but I'm going to check the wiring first.

Remove the connector, short the signal to ground, see what scantool shows.

I figured out by checking the resistance between the connector and the pcm pin that the signal wire was bad. After running a new wire the TPS reads zero with the engine running.

    Cool

Where did the wire break (how far back form the sensor connector...?)(this is on a 4th gen F-car...?)...?

I don't know. I didn't undo all the wire loom, I just ran a new wire since I didn't have time to really look into it.

If it's a 4th gen F-car it probably broke close to the lid.
