    Default LS9 Injector Install In LS1, Injector Flow Rate Question

    Just installed a set of LS9 injectors in an 01 SS with trickflow 215 heads and a 234/238 cam, the car was equipped with a smp 01d030b injectors and was tuned. The tune wasnt perfect but it wasnt far off. With the LS9s in it and tune modified with the ls9->ls1 xls file i got from here now the fuel trims are way off, its adding 20% fuel at idle. The only time the trims make any sense is when i change the injector flow rate to 48lb. Ive read conflicting data on the actual flow rate of the ls9 injectors, bosch rates them at 48lb @ 58 psi, GM rates them at 59lb @ 58psi, FIC states they flow 59lb on their flow bench. the LS9->Ls1 XLS file translates to 52.52lb. If I set the injector flow rate table to 59 it maxs out the trims at idle @ 25% on both banks. Set at 52.52 its adding about 15-20%, If i set the table to 46lb its removing alot of fuel at idle, at 48lb the trims made the most sense. Obviously I dont want to be using the IFR to hack the tune Im just looking for some help on what the actual flow rate of these injectors are because there seems to be a lot of conflicting data.

    The B4001 you see in that spreadsheet is for an un-referenced FPR running at 58 psi.

    If your FPR is MAP-referenced do this:
    - set your B4001 table to have the MANVAC zero kPa value in all cells,
    - set your FPR to 58 psi (reference hose temporarily disconnected while setting FPR);

    and this time, if trims are non-zero, subtract the trim from the VE table (taking note subtracting a negative is equivalent to adding the absolute value)...

    Are you running with or without MAF...?

    Also do you have table B9021 in your tune...?

    This is in an f-body application, the FPR isnt map referenced. It is running with a MAF. No B9021 in this OS, were running a 2001 fbody calibration

    If you're running with MAF you may have to scale the MAF table also.

    I just cant see adding 25 or even 15% to idle and i did turn the maf off to see what was going on. Something doesnt add up here. I am working on a tune for a cam only 2002 ls1 car as well that had been horribly tuned previously and then the customer swapped injectors to F.A.S.T 303600s yet this heads cam car wants 50% more fuel at idle than that one, doesnt make sense. Seems that the LS9 injector is a 48lb injector as bosch rates it at. setting the ifr at 48lb I was actually able to use the VE table out of the cam only car and it was close, I had to take out a little fuel at idle to get the trims to +/- .08%
