The next perplexity imagined is this:

What if -using V1 I have a .CVT file loaded (EFILive tune) and I load an alternate .TUN file to compare. Is it possible to save the alt file changes even though they have different extensions? -Would not this wreak havoc if updated with the alternate (.TUN) values?
You know I don't know the answer to that, but the easiest way to avoid that would be to load the .tun and save as a .ctz so both files are in the same format before you start.

    Cheers
    Cindy

( note: the changes will be to the calibration file and not the alternate )

when you save the changes, a new file will be generated (with .ctz extension).

The letter Z in the filename extension .CTZ indicates that the file is Zipped (see the newsletter that Cindy points to above)...

Zipped is a form of compression...

For a given compression method, the size of a compressed file varies depending on the file content.
If the compression method is good and suitable for the file content, then the .CTZ file will be smaller than the .TUN file.

    My $0.02.
