    Default DIY Knock Headset

    Hi everyone.

Has anyone had a go at building their own knock headset before?
I have read posts in other forums such as this:
    http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27258

    And using this concept:

I have gone ahead and bought some stuff tonight.

I will be listening for noises like this! http://youtu.be/GGJZ6kKzLusi

Has anyone else had a go at doing this and what luck did you have?

Ill post my results when I finish it in a couple weeks. If it works its going to be great at eliminating real or false knock!

    Thanks

    Mark

Cool (pretty clever using laptop's mic input)

I've been using parts hacked from a Steelman Chassis Ear I picked up from a garage sale.

What would be super helpful would be sound recording software that uses the same time stamp as the laptop time. Same as how EFILIVE does so then you could look back at logs and soumd clips to identify where exactly the knock is present.

interessting. so what became out of it. does it work, do you use it? i always wanted to connect the knock sensor to the stereo, making use of the equalizer. btw, whats the formula again to calculate the knock frequency?

To see the knock sensor frequency, you have to record a knock event on an oscilloscope which has FFT ability.
