Thread: LS1 to LS2 knock sensor question

Default LS1 to LS2 knock sensor question

I don't know if anyone here has experience with this but; we are getting close to be stuffing a LS2-402 twin turbo motor into our C5. I know the LS2 sensors are external and slightly different then the LS1. Can the LS2 style be used with some adjustments with the software or do I need to tap out the existing holes and use the stock LS1 style?

    Thanks

    Howard,

There is some parameters in the software to change the sensor type as well as details on the pin connections, however, given GM never had that style sensor on the LS1 you would need to totally remap the knock response tables. Probably retrofitting LS1 sensors would be a better option.

    Cheers,
    Ross
