Default How does the E40 read Fuel Level?

I'm trying to figure out if I'll be able to retain EVAP when swapping my LS2 into an E36 (1998 328iS BMW). There are a couple of guys who did this successfully on the E36 with the LS1 and 411 PCM. I have no idea if the E40 reads the fuel level signal the same way the 411 does.

If I understood what I was reading, another swapper with an LS3 and an E38 PCM had to create a serial conversion for the EVAP fuel level signal (using an Arduino box). I know the E40 PCM needs serial information for the air conditioning request signal but I have no idea if it reads the fuel level information like the 411 (analog?) or the E38?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

You would need to look at the wiring schematics for the E40 donor car.
