    Default Valet tune?

I'm thinking about taking my 2002 C5Z to get a new front bumper fascia installed and painted sometime soon, but really don't want someone possibly joy riding the car while it is there. The car is running REALLY strong now, so someone not ready for it will wind up wrapping my car around a telephone pole. Yeah, I know a COS has a valet mode available, but I just want to quick and dirty this as a temp solution. Drive the car there, load up a valet tune, when it's done, load the real tune back in and drive it home.

So what would be an effective method to do that? I've thought about doing a rev limit of 2K and speed limit of 20 mph. No need for anyone to go beyond that just driving the car from the paint bay and back out again.

But would there be anything potentially damaging with implementing this method?

    Thanks...

So, was this just too dumb of a question for anyone to want to bother addressing?

The best thing as you said is to put the speed limiter to 20MPH and rev limiter to 2000-2500 rpm

Thanks for replying. I've already considered that but am concerned that if those limits cut fuel delivery, will that cause me any issues with the engine running lean. I've just hooked the wideband back up and will log to see for myself, but was wondering if anyone else has addressed this concern.

20 mph and 2000 rpm it can't be under load so I can't see it "hurting" anything if it cuts fuel....

    Rich,

You have and electronic throttle right?
Use the ETC rev limiter {B5401} set lower than fuel cut then the PCM will just close the throttle body to limit RPM.

OK, thanks. I'll take a look at that. Sounds like a better option than cutting fuel.

BTW, is there a writeup anywhere about how the COS valet tune works?
