Well being in high altitude doesn't help much either for boost pressure. Also look into a PPE boost valve or build a manual boost valve to help keep the wastegate closed longer.

2002 Chevy Duramax with a few supporting mods.
I couldn't rember if he is running a boost valve in his truck or not. his track times are decent due to being lifted 6 inches off the ground and 35 inch tires at a 13.3 to 13.5 times in the 1/4. I know he are going ot upgrade the turbo once the money is in hand. I had another customer I built the trans in his lb7 he has tunes from another local tunner and made 534 rwhp but his track times were equal to my customers/buddy truck
If it is a stock turbo with no boost valve, you NEED a boost valve or adjusteable wastegate to get any more out of it. I only run a 2250 pulse at 170 rail pressure, and had to put a boost valve in to clear it up. It didn't smoke bad, but more than I liked. Got it up to about 28 now peak, and the smoke is virtually gone now.
1995 GMC 2500 SUBURBAN powered by 01 DURAMAX/ALLISON, little of this, a little of that,
DIAMONDEYE 4" exhaust, CORSA muffler, AFE stage 1 dry filter, custom tuning by me, KENNEDY single pump and pump rub kit.
it has the boost valve in it, but I have the fuel pressure table still in stock form for that the tune.
How much boost are getting out of it? You need anactual boost pressure gauge on it as the factory sensor tops out around 22 or 23 at sea level(will read higher at altitude).

he is running the edge insight monitor on his truck I am getting him to hook up a mechincal boost gauge on it.
If you delete the intake air heater, that is the best place to read boost. Don't go over 32 PSI on the stock IHI turbo though unless you want it to go boom.

ok buddy thanks we will give it a check to see were it is at.
32psi as a gauge reading or 32psi under the boost table as total intake pressure ?
as in boost gauge reading not boost table.
