Alrighty. So 32psi is max boost for the stock lb7 turbo. I'm guessing they are gated at less boost then that though

Stock boost for 01 is 20-22, and 02-04 trucks are normally around 18-20 stock. Remember the boost pressure tables refernce absolute boost pressure which is atmospheric + boost. So at sea level you have 14.7 PSI of pressure, add in 22 pounds of boost, and you have 36.7 absolute which is what the ECM will reference. Anything over 32 psi of actual boost pressure will send the turbo into an overspeed situation, and can cause the impeller to explode. Some have gone higher, but others have had them come apart at 30, but 32 is normally the accepted max for most units(I limited mine to 28 to be safe).

The tune im dealing with is set for 37psi max. And I'm in pismo beach California which is sea level. Is that over spinning the turbo?

You can ignore all the boost tables in the LB7. They do nothing to control boost, only monitor it so that a CEL can be thrown if the truck senses an issue with the operation of the mechanical boosting system.

would that be PSIA or PSIG? i assume PSIG. if the stock boost sensor was able to read high enough then it would be something like 46~47 PSIA? is this correct?
