Thread: Is the Glow Shift WB02 supported by EFI live?

    Default Is the Glow Shift WB02 supported by EFI live?

    I was given a Glow Shift WB 02 sensor to use for tuning and need to know if it is supported by EFI Live. It only has an analog output of 1 - 5v so I figured I could use one of the current supported Pids to log it's data but I don't know which one to use. I figured I would just hook it to the V2 Scanner the same way the AEM was hooked up minus the Serial Out Put. What Pids do I need to log to be able to see it on my lap top scanner? If it helps at all the WB it's self is a Bosch 17025 or 0258017025009 or WO866528. Those are the three numbers on the box.

    The last question I have is do I need to ground the output ground wire that is labeled Chassis Ground to a chassis ground and both ports on the V2 or just run them to both ports on the V2 and it will be grounded through the OBDB2 port. Thanks.

    If there is not already a pid for your wideband, we can edit one for you.

    Post the wideband's user manual pdf.

    Is this the one: GS-702W_wide-band-datalog.pdf

    It seems the range 0-5V corresponds to 10-20 AFR...

    so the AFR equation would be AFR = V*2+10

    I'll look in the scantool to see which predefined AFR pid this is the same as.

    Yes Sir, that is the exact one that I have. Will I hook it to the V2 the same way that the AEM hooked up minus the serial cable? Can you post a link to where I can read an explanation of the AFR equation and how I apply it. Thanks.

    Yes, same way as AEM analog hookup (signal to AD1+, ground/return to AD1-).

    In the scantool, goto the PIDs tab, locate the pid CALC.AFR_PLX1, on this pid do rightclick->More Info and you will see it says "{EXT.AD1}*2+10"

    this is the same as what the GlowShift user manual indicated, so use this pid...

    in Closed Loop you should see CALC.AFR_PX1 report 14.7 AFR.

    The math to determine this is as follows:

    equation of straight line:
    (AFR-10)/(V-0) = (20-10)/(5-0)

    simplifying:
    (AFR-10)/V = 10/5 = 2
    AFR - 10 =V*2
    AFR = V*2 + 10

    and there already is a calc pid for this (CALC.AFR_PLX1).

    Sorry Joe, I know you already wrote "ground/return to AD1-" but just so I am clear. The Black Ground Signal Reference wire from the Data Logging/Analog Output port in the junction box needs to go to a chassis ground and to the AD1- port on the V2 correct? It seems that since everything is routed through the junction box in the diagram that the system is grounded and I should just be able to go straight to the V2 with the Ground Signal Reference wire. Does that sound correct looking at the instructions? The part I may be missing is that the V2 has to be grounded externally through the AD- port. I though it did that through the ALDL port though. Sorry for the questions, I just don't want to mess this up. Thanks.

    From the instructions, yes that looks correct.

    AD1- can be either a return (isolated from ground) or a ground (same ground as the wideband)...

    ( some widebands have a separate signal return while others simply use vehicle ground )
