Default New member with new to me 12 6.7 HO, is my tune logged?

Positive my truck is tuned/deleted and it has an aftermarket turbo, pretty sure it's tuned with EFI live. Dealer was no help and no idea who did the tune, is my vin/tune logged somewhere? Can I see how my truck is tuned? I don't want to tow a trailer until Im sure the truck is safe to pull with.

On what grounds do you believe it has EFI loaded? How long have you had your truck?

EFI has only been out a short while for 10-15 cummins. It is much more likely to be bench flashed or had a box tuner.

I have no grounds, just an assumption since the truck didn't come with a programmer and it feels obvious to me that it has trans tuning. The truck came with everything expected, so i wouldn't expect the PO to not include a programmer and leave it tuned. I could totally be wrong. I also had no idea just how long EFI live has been out for these trucks. Maybe i'm assuming too many things.

EFI Live MAY be what was used to tune your truck but EFI Live does not do tuning. They only provide the hardware and software needed to do it. Unless you know who did the tuning, there is no way to find how your truck is tuned. Even with that, it they created multiple different tune files, they may be able to narrow down what MIGHT be on your truck but they cannot tell you what tuning is actually on the truck.

You could try sending your VIN to some of the more common tuner for the Cummins to see if they have record of it but no guarantees. Below are some of the common tuners.

Is there something i should look for on the truck that might point me to whether or not it has EFI live??? I was a smarty guy with my 5.9, so efi live is something new to me. i didn't realize how it worked. that makes better sense.

Edit** So, after finding the EFI live for dummies, apparently i don't know squat about it. I've had 8 cummins, but this is my first 6.7, so i just assumed. you know what that means. I wish the previous owner would talk to me, but with privacy laws, he doesn't have to. so i'm in the dark. i'm almost considering having the truck reflashed back to stock and go from there. i certainly don't want to tow with a hot tune. i also don't know how much power one of these stock trucks makes deleted on a butt dyno.

If you are deleted and flash a stock file it will be stuck in limp mode. Your best bet is to order an Autocal from one of the companies listed above and flash the truck with that.
