I remember downtown Sydney being choked in knee-deep hail in 1967 or 1968.

I guess the old saying "He's forgotten more about cars than you'll know" is pretty accurate for us

Just going by story -- http://www.thestar.com/news/starweat...australia.html

    Wait "hail" is not "snow".

This month in 1958 for me.

Was taken to a drag race when I was 6 years old, loved the smell of the fumes in the pits, I got to keep the guy's trophy that we went to see, he won on a default because the other guy's car blew up in the burnout box just before the Christmas tree stage.
The thing that sticks with me most was the guy that said I needed to be careful in the pits and proceeded to roll up a newspaper and hold it over a running top fuel rail dragster engine header which didn't appear to have anything coming from it, newspaper caught on fire instantly, was very careful from then on.

Ah, memories, still have the trophy to this day.

Hail had the same effect as snow, taxi's were bogged down, Sydney's downtown was all blocked.

Yeah, us older folk learnt to lookout by being exposed to situations (and shown reality)... nowadays kids are overly protected, they are insulated from gaining real world experiences.
