Default Saving a tune file from my hsv

Hi can someone help ? I have a hsv that has been tuned by my mechanic . Every now and then he loads it with a different tune as needed . He uses hptuner to tune and save to my car but i was wondering instead of always going to him could i buy a efi live tuner and save thoses tunes he puts in my car so the next time i need that tune i could just load it back to my car with the efi live . Any help would be appreciated thanks

That would work as long as:
    - your tuner does not lock the PCM,
    - your tuner does not flash in a HPT COS (custom operating system).
