When going about a mileage tune what are the general guidelines?
I haven't tried it yet but it makes sense (in my head) to increase timing and cut the main fuel table.
Has anyone attempted this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I haven't delved into it yet but, it is in my game plan. Will make it one of my CSP5 tunes.
Here's something that would be of interest to you. I have this bookmarked to reference when I get to that point.

If you are doing a CSP5 tune consider trying to run as little boost as needed while at cruise range.
