Is A0008 Broken? Don't seem to be getting cold enrichment...

Hey guys,

I've upgraded all of my V2 and software to the latest release and have had to do a bit of work on some cars including my own - put a new wideband in it to check the mixtures after tweaking cracker values a bit.

Anyhoot, I noticed that the car on a cold start was running very "cammy" prior to putting the wideband back in and my suspicions of running lean when cold were right. My A0008 table I command 1.14 multiplier so I should be commanding ~12.8 AFR at cold idle, but the commanded EQR is tapering back to 1.005 and my AFR is around 17:1...

I have a vague recollection of the car working perfectly when cold so not sure if a bug was introduced at some point. Am I going crazy? A0008 should multiply commanded EQR B3647 on COS3?

what cam specs...?


Did you recently flash in COS3/04140003 (i.e. install COS from scratch) into the PCM, or is this from before...?


Can you post the stock file that was on your PCM previously.

I think its best to clarify a few things. I did the engine in this car about 5 years ago, it's a baby 224/230 @ 0.050 cam with ported heads. The B3647 is not throwing off the fuelling as it doesn't idle above 1000rpm. From a cold start you can see the after start enrichment tapers off to 1.005EQR with VSS=0. For laughs I took the lean cruise out of it and tried again, log below shows same problem from cold start of 20ish degC (LS1B_0427.efi + 20160320 - Open Loop.ctz). When the car is warm it idles nearly dead smooth @ ~48kpa, 750rpm with ~14.4AFR and 25deg timing.

I've had COS3 in this car for years. Below is a log from July 2014 and its tune (LS1B_0321.efi + 20140718 - Current.ctz) showing that it used to work. I vaguely remember having to redo the tune when I had a problem about 2years ago with the cruise control which I fixed. I honestly can't remember if it was giving warm up enrichment or not - it's one of those things that you assume will just work.

The stock file from the PCM I have no idea, the previous tuner never gave it to me. I had to have the PCM unlocked so I could fix everything he had done (read: started again). This was going back years though.

I've just copied all of the settings from the latest tune file back into the older tune from 2014. Tomorrow i'll flash it in and see what happens.

Alright, latest tune settings copied into old tune file, I get warmup enrichment again! Not sure what happened with the later file. It started up and rich idled perfectly again so case closed

I don't know what/how you did, but good job

post this tune file here so I can look at it, and log file too.
