Currently in the scanner properties you can set a default pid or dashboard layout.
    Attachment 19970
What i think would be a handy thing to add would be to have a Default Pid file selection based on controller & if the auto transmission selection box is selected on the ecu connection screen it will load an alternative (auto) pid. Limit it to 4 or 5 controllers (if it means less coding)
    Attachment 19971
To save you from adding in every controller currently supported in efilive in the above screen, create a new tab window where you tick or select what controllers you want to be enabled for the above screen.

Does this sound like a good idea?
    +1 I like that suggestion.

And have same concept for loading dashboards.

Currently in V8 there is no option like you suggested, to load an a dashboard based on the controller and an alternate dashboard based on the the "Auto" checkbox. But it is a good idea, I will add that to the "to do " list

Meanwhile in V8, the dashboards, PID selections etc have been completely redesigned. Using the V8 scan tool, simply load your log file, then select the appropriate dashboard from the drop down list of the 10 most recently used dashboards. The "dashboard" file contains all the PID selections, chart layouts, gauge layouts, maps, in fact everything that can be configured for a dashboard is loaded instantly when you select a new/different dashboard.

    Paul,

Can you elaborate on this change.

    Build 301 Enhancements:

When opening *.bin and *.ctz files the contents are now validated to that the data in the file matches the data expected for the controller type. If data is missing then the file will fail to load into the software.
    www.mscservices.net

Tuner of many, many Duramax and Cummins Diesels.

Firstly the message should have said: ... now validated so that the data ...

If a *.bin file contains less data than is expected/required for a particular controller type then the file is not loaded and an error is displayed. If you attempt to load a *.bin file that is too short then you will now get an error message and the file won't load. Previously if a *.bin file was short the binary image was padded with $FF's to the required length and everything continued as normal. The reason it was done that way was because the checksums would detect the invalid $FF data and the checksums would show that the data was invalid. Unfortunately that meant a user could choose to correct the checksums (against all the warnings) and flash the file causing bad things to happen.

It is unlikely that a *.ctz file would be short because the *.ctz file layout and size is strictly managed by the EFILive software. It would only be short if there was a bug in the EFILive software that cause a *.ctz file to be saved with not enough data. But at least if that ever did happen the fault would be detected and the user notified.

The "flex fuel" upgrade no longer works with RC2. Using the switch to activate timing retard for nos, is always active, irrespective if switch is on or off.
    Timing is always retarded

What controller are you referring to? LS1B? If yes then I don't know what is wrong because that has not been touched for years.

And what is the date shown for the .calz when you load it up? Mine is showing 18th December 2015 for 12624402 and one year older for the COS, meaning if something isn't working then it has been like it since then which doesn't seem right.
