    Default Disable AFM/DOD and VVT

Please forgive me if this has been covered multiple times, but I can never seem to find anything when I try searching this forum. Anyway, I have a friend with a 2010 Silverado with a 5.3 that came equipped with both AFM and VVT. He just swapped in an LS2 cam and all associated hardware to delete both systems. Now it barely idles and wants to backfire through the intake. I'm assuming it is because the computer isn't making the proper adjustments to account for the fixed cam timing. Can someone give me some pointers or point me in the right direction to figure out how to make this thing run? Thanks for reading and any help you can provide.
