    Default 1290005 with LTFT

    Can I run 1290005 custom operating system on an LS1 using B3647 and still have the LTFT active by having standard settings in B4205 and having B4108 enabled?
    Or does this operating system only work properly with B4205 maxed out and B4108 disabled hence no LTFT?

    You meant B4205 and B3801...

    The COS's can run in OL or CL...

    but B3647 is the OL fueling table (i.e. this table is active only on OL)(but watch out for STFT trimming on stoich cells in this table).

    Joe, thanks for the prompt response. I am converting a developed 2bar VCM Suite tune to 1290005 transfering all setting across to EFI Live 1290005 operating system, in particular for the extended boost timing controll the EFI Live operating system gives. I am having difficulty understanding if this operating system can be run in the same manner as a standard operating system runing closed loop open loop power enrichment and what is required to do it.

    From your reply it appears I need to populate B3647 as per the tutorial but have B4205 with standard settings and B4108 enabled (eventhough I have open loop idle up to 1200rpm by manipulating settings elswher in the tune) and as you pointed out B3801 is enabled. Does this sound correct ?

    When you say (but watch out for STFT trimming on stoich cells in this table) I assume the STFT would behave the same way as they do in a standard tune?

    The COS is based on the standard OS, and runs the same as standard OS, except that the OL Fuel table is now RPM x MAP (rather than ECT x MAP), and the HO/LO adaptive/sliding spark works in the presence of a MAF DTC (i.e. in SD).

    OL works the same, except now the OL Fuel table is RPM x MAP, and STFT trimming occurs on stoich cells.
    CL works the same.
    PE works the same.
    WOT works the same.

    Yes, since B3647 (RPM x MAP) occupies the space used by B3605 (ECT x MAP) in the standard OS, you have to edit it to sensible values, and edit A0008 (OL ECT multiplier) to compensate for ECT variation.

    B3801 is LTFT Enable/Disable; disabling this still leaves STFT enabled, i.e. you would have CL STFT trimming.
    B4205 is CL Temperature Enable/Disable; disabling this means the still-enabled CL STFT have no effect.
    B4206 is OL STFT Enable/Disable (in standard OS), it trims on any stoich cells in B3605.

    The COS has no explicit B4206, but implicitly it trims on any stoich cells in B3647.

    STFT trmming on stoich cells in B3647 in OL is the same as the standard tune in OL when B4206 is enabled.

    To run OL with the COS you would set these:
    B3801: disable.
    B4205: max temperature.
    B3647: set any stoich cells to 0.99 or 1.00 of stoich.

    If your COS has B4206 (it doesn't) then disable this also.

    B4108 is not really a STFT enable/disable... it is more complex, see it's description, it selects idle vs non-idle STFT Base correction tables... it becomes irrelevant when B4205 is disabled (i.e. no CL trimming/corrections by either of LTFT or STFT) and by avoiding stoich cells in B3647.

    The conversion from a developed HP Tuners operating system to a 1290005 operating system both on 98 and E85 was not straight forward, however was well worth doing with the benefits 1290005 has to offer with a boosted LS1. However, there is one question I have I would like to have LTFT active can the 1290005 O/S accommodate this, can this be done? as the tutorial advised it is important to disable B3801 Long Term Fuel Trim Correction

    After you're done tuning, you enable all the CL/trim stuff...

    i.e. enable B3801 and B4205.
